Our aim for the Innovation Park, Botswana was to create an engaging environment to facilitate creativity, team work and greater efficiency.
The Innovation Park is set in the Botswanian arid landscape, and like the northern Delta, offers a rare gift of a lush and beautiful garden within the confines of an enclosure. The hub building sits within a lake which responds with an equally strong elliptical landscape form. It is a set piece and creates a fantastic reflection. Buildings radiate clearly from the Hub and through a delicate linear landscape, connect back to it.
A generous garden and lifted form facing towards the Innovation Park as a symbol of ingenuity and growth. A shared surface boardwalk runs around the entire length of the outer lake. Car parking is concentrated between tree belts to allow landscape to dominate and to provide shaded pedestrian routes and cooler air in close proximity to the buildings. The vehicular route weaves in between the two creating a positive interaction between buildings and landscape, switching between natural and built forms.
