In preparing the Spatial Framework we were interested in understanding both the Strategic Performance and Specific Performance of Queen Mary’s assets or “space”.

Strategic in that it must meet the ambitions of the QM manifesto (2006-2010): This requires a cross disciplinary review of QMs “space” at the level of the whole university (exploring global, city and local relationships) and the roles that the city campus “neighbourhoods” play within that. Specific in that it meets the day to day needs of tits users: A cross disciplinary review that concentrates on three connected environments: Internal (The teaching environment); Envelope (The interface); and External (The public and private realm).
