Park Hill goes to Brussels…

Sheffield’s Park Hill is one of two buildings taking centre stage at the architectural centre CIVA in Brussels. The exhibition which opened last week is titled¬† “1000 rooms with a view, the future of large housing projects” and will remain open till October 14th.

The exhibition traces in great detail the history of the project from initial design, through the years of decline and finally through it’s contemporary re-invention. Films, models, sketches, original plans and the sympathetic style of display all help to conveys the rich layers of ambition injected in this ground breaking housing project.¬†

It is the first time that the whole story of Park Hill is presented in this exciting way and the curating team of CIVA are keen to see this exhibition travelling to other venues…. Sheffield would be a good first stop!
