Studio Egret West have been invited to present their design ideas to a private developer to show how Akkoza could evolve into a sustainable community through the development of Koza Park – Park living in the centre of the metropolitan city of Istanbul. The scheme is divided into two phases; the first with 3000 homes in 8 towers, and second with 1500 homes in 4 towers.
Clapham One is a project procured by the local government and built in partnership with a private developer. The scheme includes two sites, the first site is home to a new leisure centre along with affordable housing, on the second site a new mixed use building contains a public library, large doctors surgery and 136 apartments.
The Park Hill estate in Sheffield, completed in 1961 was initially famous for its radical vision: streets in the sky, spacious duplex apartments, wonderful views, district heating, modular construction systems.
Studio Egret West have been challenged to turn the existing site of a run down office block into a new mixed use building that benefits the whole area.
Studio Egret West, worked on a scheme for the last four phases of Ralph Erskine’s Greenwich Millennium Village in London. Our approach was to evolve a sustainable, affordable, aspirational and acoustically resolved community.
The Gatefold Building will be a catalyst for the Old Vinyl Factory, lifting the spirits of the wider site; defining a crucial gateway to the masterplan and enhancing the setting of the surrounding, locally listed buildings.
